    The cost would consist of the moving charge, outlined below, and a monthly "rental" fee.  We offer this service knowing that, for many beginners, a minor commitment is more appropriate until you develop a basic knowledge of music and instruments.  We recommend first that you concentrate on the wonderful experience of music, which takes a time of disciplined study to conquer.  After that, everyone easily finds "their" best instrument.

 TO SELECT A PIANO

    First, chose one of the following five categories of instruments.  There are prices and examples of these instruments, which have all been put in decent, playable condition.  The less expensive ones do have signs of use and age, but even at the lowest price for an older instrument, they are in tune, and have working actions and pedals.

NORTHSIDE MUSIC COMPANY OFFERS A UNIQUE, OPEN ENDED LEASE PROGRAM

Most rental and lease systems are effectively "trial to buy" systems that, like automobile leases, obligate you to a specific schedule that is not really responsive to a beginners needs.  We have offered, for over twenty-five years, a program that allows you to select a good instrument at a very modest monthly cost.  The on-going normal maintenance is included in the rental fee, which can be as low as twenty dollars per month on an older piano, or would get a new piano or digital piano at higher prices.  You are free to quit the program, or to apply a major part of the money paid on a newer instrument of your choosing, at a time of your choosing.  Finally, if you do not wish to purchase anything, but want to continue the instrument's use, you may- the contract is open-ended!  That's it!  There is a delivery fee, but no deposit.
 
    We only offer this program in our regular service area because it entails the need for on-going maintenance from our staff.  If you live in central Indiana or Eastern central Illinois, come to our store and pick out an instrument.  The better musical instruments represent one of the best consumer values of any product.  The problem with pianos and organs is that, at the beginning, these instrument's costs require a major commitment.  In that first experience with music, our rental system offers a lower cost opportunity than any buying, fixing up, maintaining, and selling option.
